We listen. We act. We give. Before and after a crisis, communities can count on Target.

We have a long-standing commitment to disaster preparedness, relief and recovery efforts in order to protect our team members, guests, business and communities. This commitment is evident in our comprehensive global crisis management program which includes preparedness, emergency manager partnerships, a corporate command center and global security.

A Strong Focus on Preparedness

Throughout the year, we work with team members from our stores, distribution centers and headquarters as well as emergency management partners to practice emergency scenarios involving fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and other crises at our facilities.

To help team members prepare for disasters away from the workplace, we also provide tips for family safety as well as emergency hotlines to call if they are affected by a disaster.

24/7 Corporate Command Center

Our Corporate Command Center (C3), based at Target headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn., serves as the communication and control hub for any major crisis affecting our business. The center’s highly trained staff operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Emergency Management Partnerships

Target is committed to supporting disaster preparedness, relief and recovery efforts through partnerships with emergency managers, law enforcement and local and national relief organizations. Our priority is keeping our team members and communities safe by providing volunteers, supplies and expertise, and quickly reopening our stores following a disaster.

  • State and local emergency managers also are important partners for Target and we work with them to enhance communication and provide resources when disasters strike.
  • At the local level, guests count on our stores to be open so they can purchase the food and supplies they need, and to provide communities support beyond our property following a disaster.
